Biography

Ryan Lee Miller (Founder/Owner/CEO))


Currently residing in Minneapolis, Minnesota Ryan is a native of Indiana and has a wide  variety of experiences within the performing arts as designer, instructor, performer, clinician, and judge spanning across 32 States and 3 Canadian Provinces. 


He is the owner and founder of RLM Productions (www.RLMProductions.net) which provides custom visual design, programming and consulting for band, color guard, show choir, dance and stage productions.  

Mr. Miller is a graduate of Chesterton High School in Indiana where he was an active trumpet and French horn player in marching band, jazz, concert and several other ensembles. His musical studies and performance career continued through college in the concert setting and on the field as a lead Mellophone with the Bluegrass Brass Senior Drum & Bugle Corps from Louisville, KY. 


He also directed and performed with the Back‘Nsync Senior Winter Guard which earned the most consecutive class championships in the history of the MidWest Color Guard circuit at the time (7) and was the first all-age winter guard to compete at the WGI World Championships in Dayton, OH. 


Recently, Ryan served 2 years as Drum Major with the DCA World Championship Finalist Cincinnati Tradition Drum & Bugle Corps after spending one season as a member of the color guard. In 2015 he joined the design team for the DCA Finalist Chops, Inc. Drum & Bugle Corps from Minnesota and in 2017 helped to bring back the Chops Winter Guard after an 8 year hiatus bringing them to a class championship in this first year back. Additional drum corps design and instruction experience also includes Legends (MI), Revolution (TX), Colts/Colt Cadets (IA), and H.Y.P.E. (Ontario).   Today he serves as Assistant Director and Visual Designer for the Solar Sound Marching Band of St. Cloud, MN.  Originally the St. Cloud All-City Band, they have competed in numerous parade circuit competitions throughout the Midwest since 1984.


Ryan also judges for various marching band field and parade competitions in several 

areas of the country as well as Regional, State and National Championships sponsored 

by US Bands and Youth Education in the Arts. He has served as brass instructor, color 

guard director, drill designer and program/visual coordinator for numerous high school 

programs across the US and Canada. His experience in teaching and design came to 

the collegiate level with Marian University in Indianapolis with both the marching band 

and winter guard. 


Throughout his career, Ryan has been consultant/clinician for various theatre 

companies and stage productions, served as Event Coordinator with Music For All/

Bands of America, managed and organized logistics for touring groups, and has been a 

guest conductor at high school band concerts. He even had one of his original music 

compositions for Handbell Choir debuted at the Indiana Music Educators Association 

convention.  


Ryan received his Bachelors degree from Valparaiso University in Indiana studying both 

Music and Meteorology with continued graduate studies at Mississippi State. He is a 

certified severe storm spotter for Skywarn and has held membership with the National Weather Association.  In his “free” time he works with chocolate having been with Lindt, Godiva, and currently the MARS corporation (M&M’s Store Mall of America) as part of the management team.
